This course is at least eight hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling positions; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Bring your own lunch, hearing, and eye protection.  The first part is in a very nice conference room in Rockville and the range is in Boyds, Maryland.

Who is the class relevant for?
The class is relevant to anyone wanting to learn about all the various types of rifles, historic and new.
What will we learn in the classroom?
We will cover rolling block, falling block, lever action, bolt action, slide action, and semi-automatic rifles. I have guns stretching back to the 1800’s for you to interact with.
What will we learn on the range?
You will qualify from both the sitting and free-arm standing position at 25 yards. You can certainly bring your own rifle to learn on it. That’s always the best solution.
What do I need to bring?
Eye & Ear protection
Gun & Ammo, if you are using your own gun (150 rounds)
Closed-toe shoes
No v-neck shirts
