Advanced Tactical Training and Defense
This course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel like EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion e-card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.

This course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training, and they provide students with the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid and/or CPR and the use of an AED. These courses empower students to act confidently in an emergency at work, home, or community. Heartsaver courses are also for anyone who needs first aid and/or CPR training and a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other regulatory or licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion e-card, valid for two years.

Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR, AED: trains participants to perform high-quality CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner on adults, children and infants. It also teaches first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform life-saving skills.
Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid, CPR, AED: trains participants to perform high-quality CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner on children and infants. It also teaches first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform life-saving skills.
The course is mandatory for anyone wanting to obtain their instructor credentials.
The is a great class. You’ll learn about the NRA’s instructor portal; we’ll discuss legal and financial issues as well as role play several potentially difficult topics.

This class is a basic, introductory class for anyone wishing to obtain the Maryland HQL or to simply become more familiar with a handgun.
You’ll learn all about the anatomy and physiology of a single and double action revolver and various types of semi-automatic handguns on the market today.
You will be shooting to qualify at 10, 15, and 20 feet. If you are a potential instructor candidate, you will also qualify at 45 feet.

The class is relevant to anyone wanting to learn about all the various types of rifles, historic and new.
We will cover rolling block, falling block, lever action, bolt action, slide action, and semi-automatic rifles. I have guns stretching back to the 1800’s for you to interact with.
You will qualify from both the sitting and free-arm standing position at 25 yards. You can certainly bring your own rifle to learn on it. That’s always the best solution.

This is a great class for first time shotgun owners and shooters. If you’ve bought your first shotgun or if you’re interested in the Shotgun shooting sports, we cover all the makes and models as well as all the Shotgun shooting sports.
You’ll learn everything about your shotgun possible. From pump action to semi-automatic, to break action, we cover it all. Most of our instructors are AVID shotgun sporting enthusiasts with years of experience.
Yes, you do have to qualify. You will be shooting at moving targets that are flying directly away from you. The EASIEST presentation there is. With an 11 out of 25, you are on your way to becoming a great shotgun shooter.

This class focuses on those individuals who want to add to their existing skills following basic rifle.
The range is your classroom for this class. We deliver teaching, skill development, and tactical insights to start to work as a “team”. Making sure that gun is Zeroed is critical to our success.
Since this is the basic carbine course you will learn how to use your gun effectively, how to clean and maintain the gun, and how to use the gun in a safe manner. Day two (Carbine II) get more and more involved and demanding.

Picking up where we left off in Carbine I, we start with inspecting the guns to make sure they are ready for the day. Carbine II we start to integrate 5 basic drills used by most tacticians. These drills deliver on speed, accuracy, and lethality. From here, we introduce the students to team communication and movement skills.
Failure drills are the flavor of the day. Included above are emergency and tactical reloads. We incorporate short and long range shots, moving targets, and cover and concealment drills to amplify your skills.

If you already have your HQL and pistol but are curious and want to know more, this is your class. We start with the basics of cover and concealment, proximity drills, how to perform three types of reloads, and how to fix malfunctions under stress.
The entire class is delivered on the range. We will take frequent breaks to “teach” a skill – then, you go and shoot the skill.
You’ll particularly learn about the Tueller drill and why it is so important.
First, we will learn to move, then shoot. By the end of the day, you will be moving and shooting at the same time. Safety is PARAMOUNT. Therefore, good discipline is Mandatory.

Handgun III is designed to stress your shooting skills. While maintaining safety and accuracy, we will push your drawing and presentation to the limit. Are you thinking of buying a gun for home protection? If so, this is your class. We review Maryland law extensively with a lawyer present and we discuss situational material that empowers you to make the best decisions should a situation ever present itself. Basic Pistol is required to take this class.
We review the use of cover and concealment. More importantly, we try to discuss this relative to your home. We discuss when to call 911, when to run and/or hide, and how to warn a threat about the use of lethal force in your home.

This course trains participants how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control bleeding. Participants receive an American College of Surgeons certificate after completion.

If you want to become a shotgun instructor, this is y our class. One of our best classes there is. You will get to interact with every type of shotgun action in the industry – all while proving your metal as a shotgun instructor.
Expect to learn everything about a shotgun possible. You’ll learn about chokes, barrel, rib, comb, the mount, various swing and follow through methods, loading and unloading, and how to shoot various moving targets effectively.
You have a choice – Skeet or Trap. You will be expected to shoot one or the other. We will coordinate a time and date to meet at a local range (Thurmont, PG County or Bull Run) to shoot. All you need is a 13 out of 25 to pass.
