You will receive your Maryland HQL certification at the end of this class.  This course is 10 hours long and includes both classroom and range time.  The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation. This is the instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end.  You need to bring your own lunch, eye, and hearing protection.  The classroom is in Rockville and the range is in Boyds, Maryland.

Who is the class relevant for?
This class is a basic, introductory class for anyone wishing to obtain the Maryland HQL or to simply become more familiar with a handgun
What will we learn in the classroom?
You’ll learn all about the anatomy and physiology of a single and double-action revolver and various types of semi-automatic handguns on the market today.
What will we learn on the range?
You will be shooting to qualify at 10, 15, and 20 feet. If you are a potential instructor candidate, you will also qualify at 45 feet.
What do I need to bring?
Eye & Ear protection
Gun & Ammo, if you are using your own gun (150 rounds)
Closed-toe shoes
No v-neck shirts
