You will be eligible to apply for your Maryland HQL certification at the end of this class. This course is 10 hours long and includes both classroom and range time. The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals, regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation. This is an instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. You need to bring your lunch and eye and hearing protection. The classroom is in Mount Airy MD, and the range is in Owings Mills

This class is a basic, introductory class for anyone wishing to obtain the Maryland HQL or to simply become more familiar with a handgun.
You’ll learn all about the anatomy and physiology of a single and double-action revolver and various types of semi-automatic handguns on the market today
You will be shooting to qualify at 10, 15, and 20 feet. If you are a potential instructor candidate, you will also qualify at 45 feet.
