This is a 10-hour course. Instructor candidates will teach the entire Pistol Student course throughout the day. Topics range from fundamentals, scoring targets, marksmanship, position, maintenance and cleaning, storage, ammunition, and the anatomy and physiology of both revolvers and semi-automatic handguns. All Instructor shooting qualifications will be performed at 45 feet. You must have your own gun and ammunition.
This class is relevant and required to become an NRA Pistol Instructor. This class meets Maryland’s minimum training requirement to become licensed in the state to teach.
You will learn how to teach the basic pistol course. You will work in groups using the coach/pupil method and we will critique all the presentations during class.
You will learn how to teach the basic pistol course range portion. Our focus is on Safety, safety, safety.
