This is a 10-hour course. This course classroom and range time learning how to teach the basic course to basic students who want to shoot rifles. Instructor candidates learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling positions; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Bring your own lunch, hearing, and eye protection. The first part is in the ICEFDT Home Offices and the range is in Boyds, Maryland. Deposit needs to be made within 7 days of registering.
This class is relevant to any potential student who wants to become a rifle instructor.
We cover multiple action types, how those actions function, how those actions load and unload, and how to properly maintain your guns. You perform all these functions while participating in the coach/pupil method.
Like basic rifle, you will shoot from the bench, free-arm, and prone position. You will shoot all these positions from 25 yards.
